We have a spot in Riverbank that we love the pollo a las brasas but we did not feel like driving all the way there and we had seen the reviews of this place so we came in for dinner. It's not in the greatest part of town but don't let the shopping center that it is in deter you. We ordered a half and half order of chicken combo, so had two plates of beans and rice and half wood cooked chicken in Diabla sauce and the other half was their regular chicken a la brasa. They also gave us chips and bean dip. So the beans, rice and bean dip were ok, not great not bad just ok. The chicken in the diabla sauce was delicious. The regular chicken was covered on top with roasted onions and jalapeños that were amazing. The chicken was well seasoned and was well smoked but it's not a traditional a las brasas or wood smoked chicken which is usually crispier, this chicken because they drench it in either Diabla sauce or the roasted veggies it's soggier so a different vibe yet delicious. The Diabla sauce was almost too spicy for me but worth the pain! The red salsa from their salsa bar was one of the best my wife has had in a long time and the rest of the salsa bar was well stocked with a variety of salsas and pickled spicy carrots and peppers. Cucumber slices and other condiments. The service was pretty good and the place it's very nicely decorated and spacious. We will definitely be back but you have to make sure in this part of town you lock your car and are careful specially after dark. We will still go to the other spot for traditional pollo a las brasas but we can wait to come back for more Diabla chicken and I want to try the carne asada.

Absolutely delicious, ordered the whole chicken that came with beans and rice. Tasted like home cooking with the onions and Serrano peppers. Looking forward to going back

Hello, Update yall. I really want to say, this place is so slept on. I'm telling yall, this place is bomb! The food, HELLA good. I got a vampiro de pastor, and it was freaking fire. The pineapple went so well with the meat, and it wasn't overly sweet. Like just right. The chicken, bomb. The salsas, bomb too. I can't find anything (other than the rice) wrong with this spot. I will say, this place ain't for the weak. If you can't handle spicy food, you might be struggling in the bathroom with tums, but if you have a high tolerance (like me) I'm telling you, you going to love it. Im sure I'll develop ulcers but I'm here for a good time, not a long time.

With a name like that, you need to try the chicken! Fresh grilled pollo on grilled tortillas. Simple but delicious. Try it with the chipotle sauce! #spicemeister approved.
